A man who had his wife murdered two days after taking a life insurance policy in her name almost 18 years ago has been awarded life imprisonment by the Supreme Court. The man, a resident of Uttarakhand, had alleged that five men had entered his house in the intervening night of March 24 and 25, 2002 to abduct him and his wife was shot dead by them when she resisted.
