After one of the best wins of her career in the morning, Johanna Konta followed a three-set win over Sloane Stephens with a two-set victory over Venus Williams.

After a washout at the Italian Open on Wednesday, Konta was scheduled to play two matches in one day. In the first, she was 4-0 up in the first set to Stephens before losing the first set to the American in a tiebreak.
